Vitali Klitschko awarded as “Fighter of the Year” by the WBC
The World Boxing Council have announced their award winners for 2011. WBC Heavyweight Champion Vitali Klitschko received the award for “Fighter of the Year”. In 2011, he defended his championship belt twice: In March against Odlanier Solis by KO 1 and in September against Tomasz Adamek by TKO 10.
“I am happy to be awarded by the WBC and it will give me additional motivation for my future fights. I am proud to have the same belt that Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson had. Against Chisora on February 18, I will show again that I am the strongest in the world”, says Vitali Klitschko.
Vitali Klitschko’s next title defense will be against Dereck Chisora at the Olympiahalle Munich, Germany on February, 18, 2012. Tickets are available at www.eventim.de.
