Mayweather and Maidana Make Weight For Rematch
Undefeated pound for pound king, Floyd Mayweather and Argentinian hard hitter Marcos Maidana had no problems making the weight for their rematch. Mayweather marked 146.5 pounds while “Chino” Maidana was a full pound under the weight limit at 146 pounds.
Fighters of co-main event Leo Santa Cruz and Manuel Roman weighed in at 122 lbs and 121 lbs respectively. This fight is for Santa Cruz’ WBC Super Bantamweight belt.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission this rematch will earn Marcos Maidana a purse of $3 million while “Money” Mayweather is guaranteed $32 million.
The event will be produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV® (8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT)
