Mikey Garcia Has TR Offer, Could Decide by Monday
Mikey Garcia vs. Terence Crawford. Nice concept, right? Hey, it could happen, just maybe, as it is looking like we could see Mikey back in a ring in pretty short order. Brother Robert Garcia told me that Top Rank set forth some terms, nothing so concrete as a contract, for Mikey to sign off on, and Mikey, who’s been on hiatus, said he’d take the weekend to think it over.
Monday he should offer his thumb up or down, Robert told me. And with the March 21 Crawford/HBO/Top Rank NYC date falling through, how about a Garcia vs. Crawford bout filling the void?
Robert said he’s down with that, that Crawford is solid, but is still not the total package, that his chin needs to be checked by a Mikey type….
