Boxing News: Roman Greenberg Invades Sin City
LAS VEGAS (May 26, 2005) – Hot heavyweight prospect Roman Greenberg (18-0, 13 KOs) headlines a June 11 fight card at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, promoted by Guilty Boxing in association with Fight Academy, Infox Promotions and World Promotions.
Unbeaten powerhouse Greenberg, fighting out of England via Israel, is a gifted, 6’3” sharpshooter. The 22-year-old faces Josh “The Griz” Gutcher (17-3, 13 KOs), of Des Moines, Iowa in the 10-round main event.
“Greenberg is a highly-touted, popular up-and-coming fighter who’ll be tested by Josh Gutcher,” Guilty vice president Jay Hassman said. “We have a Ukrainian invasion on this card. The co-feature promises to be very entertaining and we have competitive supportive bouts.”
Greenberg holds a victory against Julius Francis, who defeated Mike Tyson victor Danny Williams, who has also has been in the ring against some of the world’s best heavyweights, including Tyson, Vitali Klitschko, John Ruiz, Zeljko Mavrovic, Oleg Maskaev and Sinan Samil Sam.
Ukrainian light heavyweight champion Yuri Barash’yan (16-2, 11 KOs), rated No. 15 by the European Boxing Union, takes on dangerous Jesus Ruis (18-4, 16 KOs) of Las Vegas in a sensational 10-round co-feature.
The undercard bouts include Ukrainian light heavyweights Viatcheslav Uzelkov (3-0, 3 KOs) versus Nakhnud Otzhanov (3-1, 3 KOs), unbeaten Ukrainian super middleweight Viktor Zinoviev (5-0, 3 KOs) against Moses Matovu, of Las Vegas, as well as three other bouts. All fighters and matches are subject to change.
