Hoping For No Canelo Scale-Fail
With the advent of Twitter, we all now know how the world is littered with more experts than you can shake ten thousand sticks at. Many of them are present in the boxing sphere, thankfully for us all…
Forgive me, I’m busting chops, jokingly…
But for real, you do see so much theorizing, presented as fact, from so many folks, media and fan alike, on the social media, and thus, it’s easy to have a narrative get launched or affected by something that someone saw which isn’t in fact, a fact.
Such as..
People invariably say this fighter or that one looked gaunt..or drawn..or looked bad, and surmise they had excessive trouble making weight.
To be honest, I see the same boxer and think, um, he looks OK to me. I’m sure he wants to go and chow and drink his face off…but he doesn’t look like a walking corpse to me.
Anyway, rumors abound and persist that Canelo is having trouble making weight. Now, comps of his face, how thin it is, before his fight against Mayweather, and from Tuesday, he looks OK to me. Let’s see how he looks at the weigh in today…
But anyway, I asked Golden Boy exec Eric Gomez about the rumors. Scale fail coming, Eric?
