London’s O2 Arena on Dec 12th – Malignaggi Gets New Opponent
Promoter Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom Boxing Promotion are at the O2 Arena in London this Saturday Dec. 12th with a huge card headlined by the heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua (14-0) and Dillian Whyte (16-0).
Another of the feature twelve round bouts sees veteran Paulie Malignaggi (34-7) taking on Gianluca Branco (49-3-1) for the European Welterweight title, but the champion Branco will no longer be fighting and the title has been left vacant.
But Malignaggi’s stated dream of fighting for a European title is still intact, as Italy’s Antonio Moscatiello (20-2-1) steps in to fight Malignaggi for the vacated title.
Moscatiello has won five fights in a row and is the Italian welterweight champion, and he deserves credit for stepping into a tough fight on short notice.
The sport books have Malignaggi a (-800) favorite for this one, with Moscatiello returning at (+500).
That’s the news from the O2 Arena card in London this Saturday, main events are set to air on Sky Box Office in the UK.
Don’t miss it.
