Broner vs Theophane Weigh-in Results From D.C.
The weigh-ins are in the books for the Leonard Ellerbe promoted boxing card at the D.C. Armory on April 1st. Thursday afternoon was the scene and the proceedings went off amidst the usual fanfare.
Reports are coming in that Adrien Broner will lose the WBA “Super World” title on the scales, as he has failed to make weight after a second weigh-in. The belt is now vacant and should go to Theophane if the British fighter can win the fight, since he made the weight. If Broner wins, the belt would remain vacant.
Ashley Theophane stepped up to the scales first. Theophane weighed in at 140 lbs even. Broner stepped onto the scale next. As he stripped down, the officials made the usual “towel shield.” Broner came in at 140.4 pounds and was given two hours to lose the excess weight to make the match an official title fight.
On the undercard, the Patrick Harris (8-0) versus Samuel Amoako (21-9) fight is in jeopardy. Harris came in three pounds under the Super Lightweight limit, but Amoako was a no show at the weigh-ins.
The rest of the card weighed in with none of the other fighters having any issues. Below are the weigh-in results for all of the bouts:
