ALERT! Lucky Fans Can Co-Host Show With Steward, Bernstein
FANS CAN BE RADIO CO-HOSTS WITH BOXING “VOICES
Boxing fans have a chance to help cancer patients and their families by bidding to co-host an hour on the radio with three of the best known television voices of boxing. Hall of Fame Trainer and HBO boxing analyst Emanuel Steward, Hall of Fame Boxing announcer Al Bernstein and Al’s Showtime boxing broadcast partner Gus Johnson will each be hosting an hour with some lucky fan on Friday, July 30th at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
This is part of the ESPN Radio 1100’s 5th annual “Longest Radio Talk Show Ever, where fans have an opportunity to bid for a one-hour co-hosting spot with celebrities during this 24 hour radiothon. Steward, Bernstein and Johnson are among the sports and entertainment celebrities participating. The bidding will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 23rd. All the proceeds go to benefit The Caring Place, a Las Vegas facility that offers free services and programs to those touched by Cancer and their families. These non-medical services, including healing arts, nutritional counseling and emotional support groups, are designed to help the mind, body and spirit of those touched by Cancer. This non-profit center was co-founded by Al Bernsteins wife Connie. Both Al and Connie serve on The Caring Place board of directors.
Al Bernstein said, “The Caring Place is an amazing place that changes people’s lives every day. While still undergoing treatment for stage four breast Cancer, my wife Connie teamed up with her oncologist Dr. Mary Ann Allison to found this facility. I am inspired every day by what Connie accomplished while facing her own mortality. To say she is a remarkable person is an understatement.
