Boxing News: NBA’s Kendall Gill Turns Pro Boxer This Summer
CHICAGO (June 1, 2005) – Fourteen-year NBA veteran Kendall Gill will announce his intentions to make his professional boxing debut this summer at a press conference and workout Friday morning , June 3, at 11:00 a.m., at JABB Boxing Gym, located at 410 N. Oakley, near the intersection of Grand and Western on Chicago's near northwest side.
Prior to speaking to the press and answering questions, the Chicago native and University of Illinois grad will show off his solid boxing skills by shadowboxing, working the mitts and hitting the speed bag.
Gill has been training at JABB for the last eighteen months and says he is in the best shape of his life. “I'm taking this very seriously just like the professional approach I brought to my career in the NBA.”
Dominic Pesoli, owner of JABB Boxing Gym, said “He's been very serious about this. He wants to make his pro debut this summer and the press conference and workout is a great way to show off his skills.”
