Boxing News: Tickets for Peter-Klitschko Going Fast
Tickets are going fast for the September 24, 2005 Samuel Peter vs. Wladimir Klitschko/Miguel Cotto vs. Gianluca Branco “Boardwalk Brawl” at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
As of Friday, August 26, over 6000 of the 12,000 available seats had already been sold. “It's unbelievable!” says Dino Duva of Duva Boxing (promoting the event in association with Top Rank and K-2 Promotions). “Tickets have been available for less than three weeks – and in the laziest part of the dog days of summer. Who would have known that these tickets would be moving like this?”
These sales figures are proving that this is a terrific fight for boxing fans and that Atlantic City is a major player for big-time boxing.
Anticipation is already at an incredible high for this intriguing heavyweight war. Klitschko’s trainer, Emanuel Steward, agrees. “It's the most anticipated fight in the heavyweight division this year,” he says. “I just did an HBO broadcast in Chicago and everybody is talking about it. This fight is creating excitement.”
Tickets for “Boardwalk Brawl” – the Samuel Peter vs. Wladimir Klitschko box-off for the IBF’s and WBO's number-one contenderships – as well as WBO super lightweight champion Miguel Cotto's title defense against Gianluca Branco – are still available at TicketMaster.
