Boxers Make Weight For Barclays Card
No drama at the scales in Brooklyn today, ahead of the Golden Boy card Saturday night at Barclays. The Brooklyn boys, Paul Malignaggi (147) and Zab Judah (146) were on message. Devon Alexander (146.4) and Shawn Porter (146.8) both looked trim and confident that they’d retain the IBF welter belt, or wrest it away, respectively. Cuban Erislandy Lara (153.2) talked some trash to Austin Trout (153.8), looking to snag Lara’s interim WBA 154 pound crown, but Trout said it didn’t phase him, as he doesn’t understand Spanish. Sakio Bika was 166.6 and Anthony Dirrell 167.4, both looking determined to get the W in a faceoff for Bika’s WBC super middle strap.
Showtime will televise.
