Brooklyn Weigh-in Surprise – Serrano vs Kalderas is off
Serrano vs Kalderas is off – Preliminary word is coming in from the weigh-ins in Brooklyn for this Saturday’s huge Showtime boxing card at the Barclays Center that the fight for the vacant WBO World Female Featherweight title scheduled between Amanda Serrano and Erika Kalderas has been postponed.
The news comes as a bit of a surprise, as Serrano, who is (26-1-1) and from Brooklyn, was fighting in her home town as a heavy favorite to win the world title. Promoter Lou DiBella is said to be looking to re-schedule the bout for February 17th where DiBella Entertainment already has booked the BB King Blues Club and Grill.
The Serrano Sisters appeared to confirm on their Twitter account.
Hey guys so sorry to inform my opponent didn’t make her flight so my fight has been moved to… https://t.co/z7hJKw15tG

Brooklyn Weigh-in Surprise – Serrano vs Kalderas is off
The rumors are that Kalderas never even boarded her plane in her native Hungary, and that she was having trouble making weight. Serrano’s camp stated that during the week they had sent word that tey would accept the fight if Kalderas was over the weight, but apparently, it was not enough.
No word on whether Kalderas is the planned opponent for February or if another opponent will be booked. Look for more news as it comes in here at The Boxing Channel.
