De La Hoya/Pacquiao Is On
After plentiful flirting with several suitors, and much wrangling over a purse split, Oscar De La Hoya has chosen a foe for his Dec. 6farewell tiff: Manny Pacquiao.
ESPN’s Dan Rafael could not get confirmation from Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, or Golden Boy Promotions’ Richard Schaefer, but said that an official announcement will come Thursday.
De La Hoya (39-5, 30 KOs) will be favored to down Pac Man (47-3-2, 35 KOs) by virtue of a heavy weight and presumably, power advantage .
It is likely the bout will take place in Las Vegas, Rafael reports.
Have at it, TSS Nation. Can Manny pull it off? Will Oscar be too strong for him?
