DiBella’s Broadway Boxing Returns Jan. 23
Broadway Boxing Returns – New York, NY (12/27/12) – On Wednesday, January 23, DiBella Entertainment (DBE) will kick off its 9th consecutive season of the popular New York based Broadway Boxing series at New York City’s famed BB King Blues Club. The card will feature a number of DBE’s top up-and-coming prospects, including unbeatens Lamar Russ (11-0, 7KO’s), Luis “K.O. King” Rosa (11-0, 6KO’s) and Delen “Sniper” Parsley (9-0, 2KO’s). Additional bouts and information on the card, including a must-see main event will be announced shortly.
“This is going to be our ninth consecutive season of Broadway Boxing and I truly believe that each year has been better than the last,” stated Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment. “Nearly every Broadway Boxing card we staged last year in New York was a complete sell-out, and we are looking to continue that run with another great event on January 23rd. The card will be stacked with some of the most promising young prospects in boxing.”
Both Parsley and Rosa, have been featured on the Broadway Boxing series multiple times already in their young careers, but the bout on the 23rd will be the first appearance on the series for the highly touted middleweight Russ.
The 25-year-old Russ joined the DBE roster late in 2012, and in his first bout under the promotional banner scored a first round annihilation on ShoBox: The New Generation over previously undefeated Jonathan Cepeda (12-0, 11KO’s). In his previous bout, Russ scored a fourth round TKO over yet another undefeated prospect, 13-0 Jose Alonzo. Russ is looking to kick off what he hopes to be a breakout year with another impressive performance on the 23rd.
Rosa, a native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, but now living and training in New Haven, CT, scored an impressive sixth-round TKO over Victor Valenzuela in his last bout on the HBO Boxing After Dark undercard on September 29 at Foxwoods. At just 21-years-old age the super bantamweight Rosa is truly one of the bright young stars on the DBE roster.
The Broadway Boxing series is the longest current running series in boxing and has included appearances in their early careers by such former and current world champions, Paulie Maglinaggi, Andre Berto and Yuri Forman, just to name a few.
Tickets are priced at $125, $100, $75 and $55 with a limited number of $1000 V.I.P. tables available. There are 5 seats to each V.I.P. table. Tickets can be purchased by calling the DiBella Entertainment office at (212) 947-2577. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the first bout scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The card is promoted by DiBella Entertainment and sponsored by Manfredi Auto Group, Newlio.com and Everlast.
