Don “Da Bomb” George Wins Decision in Vegas
Cestus Management’s newest prospect, undefeated super-middleweight sensation Don “Da Bomb” George (7-0-1), won a thrilling decision against tough Julio Lanzas (3-5-1) in his second appearance in Las Vegas under the thriving management company’s banner.
Held at Orleans Casino on Friday, October 26, and promoted by Guilty Boxing, Da Bomb and Julio Lanzas went to a six-round unanimous decision that had the fans cheering. Da Bomb fired up the crowd with his sharp jabs, slick footwork and blazing combinations. Lanzas, from Calhan, CO, worked hard and used his aggressive style to try and trap Da Bomb on the ropes, but Da Bomb’s blows began to eventually wear him down. By round four Lanzas' nose was bleeding and Da Bomb used this to dominate the last six minutes of the fight. By the final round both fighters were taunting each other after landing big blows, but Da Bomb won by unanimous decision and both fightersreceived a standing ovation for their efforts.
Says advisor Mike Michael: “Da Bomb gave an excellent performance and we are very happy with his progress its right on target. Da Bomb is improving and getting better with every fight, he showed that he can make adjustments and still win the fight with ease. Da Bomb is only 20 years of age and after twelve to fifteen months he will emerge as a force to be reckoned with. This kid has a ton of talent and we will take our time with him and mold him the right way. Team Cestus would also like to thank Guilty Boxing’s Nick Ratteni, Jay Hassman and Jeff Grmoja for featuring Da Bomb on their Guilty Fight cards, and we look forward to our next outing sometime in December.”
Cestus Management, who has made a niche for itself signing talented young fighters, is located in Vineland, New Jersey. Cestus works with boxers of distinction from all around the world.
