NOTE: WEIGHTS (Oct. 20, 2011) – Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez (19-0, 14 KOs) of Worcester, Mass., and Will “Power” Rosinsky (14-0, 8 KOs) of Ozone Park, N.Y., both weighed in at 171 pounds while Gabriel “Tito” Bracero (17-0, 3 KOs) of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Daniel “The Hudson Valley Kid” Sostre (11-4-1, 4 KOs) both tipped the scales at 140 and 138 pounds, respectively, one day before their ShoBox: The New Generation showdowns Friday, Oct. 21, at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) from the MGM Theatre Foxwood Resorts Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
Both main event fighters share similar backgrounds and styles both having won U.S. National Amateur Championships in 2005, Rodriguez at 165 pounds and Rosinsky at 178 pounds.
Rosinsky is four months older than the 26-year-old Rodriguez, who turned pro seven months before Rosinsky. They had about the same number of amateur fights and have trained together, even rooming on one international trip to China.
The fight will mark Rodriguez’s third time on SHOWTIME and second main event.
ShoBox, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will feature Curt Menefee calling the action alongside expert analysts Steve Farhood and Antonio Tarver. Gordon Hall is the executive producer of ShoBox with Richard Gaughan producing the Rick Phillips directing.
