ESPN Live Webcast of Pay-Per-View Boxing April 13
With fight fans’ pockets still smarting from HBO’s pay-per-view show this past weekend, ESPN.com is offering a live webcast of its April 23 ESPN PPV boxing card. ESPN.com will feature an identical live feed of the telecast of the four-fight card promoted by Main Events at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas starting at 9 p.m. ET.
“We are thrilled to be able to use both our online and television assets to offer this high quality night of boxing,” said Matt Murphy, ESPN senior vice president, broadband and interactive sales. “With four great fights on this card, it is an outstanding value for fans.”
Added John Kosner, senior vice president, ESPN New Media, “This is another example of the commitment by ESPN.com and the ESPN family of television networks to work together and leverage technological resources to serve fans in every way possible.”
The night's card of boxing will be sold separately online and available to fans for the same $29.95 price as the pay-per-view telecast. Following the fight, the video will be archived and available on-demand to fans that purchased the Webcast until April 30.
The bouts included the following matches:
Antonio Margarito (30-4 21 KOs) vs. Kermit Cintron (24-0 22 KOs)
Juan Diaz (27-0 13 KOs) vs. Ebo Elder (22-1 14 KOs)
Shane Mosley (39-4 35 KOs) vs. David Estrada (18-1 9 KOs)
Calvin Brock (24-0 20 KOs) vs. Jameel McCline (31-4-3 19 KOs)
Former champion Ray Leonard will serve as on-site analyst with host Brian Kenny. Teddy Atlas and Joe Tessitore will offer ringside commentary, with Jeremy Schaap reporting from the fighter’s dressing rooms. Boxing writer Dan Rafael, who joined ESPN.com last month, will preview the night’s fights online.
