Free Agent Kendall Holt Vows To Win Another Title
Kendall Holt knows the baton will be passed soon enough, he knows when he sees his nine-year-old son Keshon get it done on both sides of the ball in peewee football, in Paterson, NJ, that the kid is going to one day outdo the old man. But the boxer wants to put out the word that he’s not ready to hang up the gloves, and transfer his efforts and energy to the offspring.
The former 140 pound champ Holt, age 32, was stung by a TKO8 loss to Lamont Peterson in his last outing, in February, but he put out word to me that he’s a short camp away from being in top shape to fight again, at 147 pounds, and has a plan to snag a world title within two years.
Holt’s 2011 split decision loss to Danny Garcia (pictured above, in Hogan photo), in a title shot eliminator, isn’t such a marked blemish, is it, what with Garcia upping his rep so mightily with how he handled Lucas Matthysse Saturday? The Woodland, NJ resident is taking offers now, for a decent promotional deal, and declares that he has another run to glory in him. Keshon, you have to wait.
