Gassiev vs Wlodarczyk WBSS Tournament Results – Saturday night saw the World Boxing Super Series in New Jersey for Murat Gassiev vs Krzystof Wlodarczyk.
In the final WBSS cruiserweight quarterfinal, 2nd seeded and IBF title holder Murat Gassiev 25-0 (18) stopped former WBC & IBF cruiserweight champ Krzysztof Wlodarczyk 53-4-1 (37) with a short uppercut to the chin followed by a short left hook to the body in the third round. Wlodarczyk was counted out.
The first two rounds were uneventful with Gassiev inching his way in but not much happened. The end came out of nowhere when Wlodarczyk had his back to the ropes. Gassiev will face WBA champ Yunier Dorticos 22-0 (21) in the WBSS semi-final in January.
