Golden Boy Wins Peterson-Jean Purse Bid
Montreal, November 6th 2013- The final purse bid for the IBF light welterweight World Champion Lamont Peterson (31-2-1, 16 KOs) to defend his title vs mandatory challenger, Quebec’s Dierry Jean (25-0, 17 KOs) , was held yesterday at the IBF’s central office in New Jersey. The $156,000.00 bid was awarded to the American company, Golden Boy promotions, for the promotional rights to the event.
“Golden Boy now has 90 days from yesterday, by February 5th, for the event to take place. Dierry has already begun training and we are very confident he will be crowned the World champion regardless where the event takes place” explains Eye of the Tiger Management CEO Camille Estephan.
An official press conference will be held by EOTTM at the Sofitel Hotel (1155 Sherbrooke W, Montreal, QC, H3A 2N3), Tuesday November 12th, 11:00AM where Camille Estephan will not only announce Dierry’s world title fight, but also unveil the companies new boxing series and projects in line for 2014. Dierry Jean, Ghislain Maduma who is now ranked #4 in the world by the WBC, and their head coach Mike Moffa will be present to answer any and all questions and be available for interviews and photographs.
