Has Golovkin Gone All Mayweather On Us?
Some bummed out fight fans have reached out and made clear their discontent. Why, Woodsy, is that #GolovkinLemieux weigh-in a VIP special?
Is he going all Mayweather on us?
To the contrary; here is why the Friday, Oct. 16 weigh-in for the middleweight MSG tangle between the baby-faced fighting pride of Kazahkstan and the model-pretty hammer-fisted fighter from Montreal is not open to all…
“It’s because there is limited capacity,” said Tom Loeffler, of K2, the promoter for 3G. The scale test will take place in the theater, and, thus, “MSG needs to know how many people are going to show up, as it’s too much of a variable for security. It’s not like Las Vegas, where they have the entire casino revolving around the fight card. They have a Knicks game at MSG Friday night, and a concert in the theater on Saturday night. Also, because of TV production, the theater capacity is much less than normal. We are NOT selling tickets to the weigh in, and it’s just to make sure it doesn’t go over capacity.”
So, you want to check out the gents in their skivvies and soak up the atmosphere the day before the day of reckoning?
Here is how to proceed:
