Haye Injured; Klitschko Fight Is Off
David Haye was injured in training and his June 20 showdown with Wladimir Klitschko is off, Reuters reports.
“We are in the unfortunate position of having to cancel the fight because of an injury to David Haye,” Klitschko's management spokesman Klaus-Peter Dittrich told Reuters.
Klitschko, who holds the IBF, WBO and IBO belts, was putting them up for grabs at Bundesliga soccer club Schalke 04's stadium. Tickets had been selling briskly, to the tune of 40,000 plus.
Hate had secured the fight by getting under the Klitschko Brothers' skin, as he taunted them by wearing a t-shirt that showed him holding their severed heads.
Wlad will apparently fight on June 20, against someone. Paging John Ruiz!
