Jean Pascal On What He Thought of Adonis’ Work: “NOTHING!”
Jean Pascal wasn’t tres impressed with Adonis Stevenson’s work, both in the ring, and on the mic post-fight, on Friday night.
JP, who is contracted to tangle with the hammerfisted Russian Sergey Kovalev March 14, was asked by TSS what he thought of Adonis’ TKO of Dmitriy Sukhotskiy on Showtime.
“Nothing,” the Haitian-born hitter replied.
I asked for an extended version…
“It was the kind of performance you should expect in a mismatch,” Pascal stated. “It was a mismatch on paper and in the ring.”
As for Adonis’ post-fight, in-the-ring remarks to Jim Gray? “Easy to say you’re the king, harder to prove it,” Pascal said. “A real king faces the best to show he is the ruler of the kingdom. Super Duck don’t wanna do that!”
The WBC has stated they want Adonis to meet the winner of the forthcoming Kovalev vs. Pascal match. He didn’t seem publicly enthralled with the prospect, though his promoter, Yvon Michel, and his trainer, Sugar Hill, indicate he will comply with the WBC. Time will write the tell all…
