Jorge Arce, Ever Busy and Aggressive, Gets TKO Win in Mexico…WOODS

You have to love Jorge Arce. Well, you don't have to, but you should. The little guy invests in his power punches like Roberto Duran did, and by and large, he throws mostly power punches for the duration of his fights.

Saturday night, Arce finished off Simphiwe Nongqayi in the fourth round of their scrap, which took place in Baja California, Mexico.

Forty seconds into the fourth, a butt hurt Arce. He composed himself after a break, during which time the ref took away a point from Nongqayi, and went back to hammering away at the loser. He backed him into a corner, windmilled on him, added in some hard left hooks, and the ref stepped in to halt the one-sided action with 55 seconds remaining.

The WBO super bantam champ Arce had scored a knockdown in the first, off a left hook high on the head.

With the win, the 32 year-old Mexican rises to 58-6-2, while the South African drops to 16-2-1. They'd met before, in September 2009, when Nong had won a UD12.
