Juan Manuel Marquez MAYBE Next For Robert Guerrero
The grapevine had Amir Khan gloving up with Robert Guerrero, and the Twittersphere seemed to dig that style clash. The grapevine had it wrong though; in fact, Khan will meet ex welter champ Devon Alexander on Dec. 13, in a scrap to be presented on Showtime, which leaves Guerrero looking for a dance partner.
I asked Ghost’s co-adviser and cornerman Bob Santos what happened to a Khan-Guerrero bout, and what might come next for the fighter who impressed in his last outing, getting a fan-friendly UD12 over Yoshi Kamegai on June 21. “The Alexander fight is a better style matchup for Khan, that’s for sure,” Santos told me. “Khan has avoided Robert for years. We’re not sure what’s next, Juan Manuel Marquez is a possibility. We will see.”
Nothing not to like about that one, folks. Your thoughts?
