Kalenga vs. Gassiev Could Land on #CottoCanelo Card
Andre Ward’s dropout from the #CottoCanelo card support slot means that another bout could and will get added to that Roc Nation/Golden Boy promotion, portions of which will run on PPV.
I’m told that it’s quite possible a meaningful cruiserweight tangle, pitting 22-2 Youri Kalenga, a Kinsasha-born boxer signed to manager Gary Hyde versus Murat Gassiev, a 22-0 Russian, will unfold.
I will go out on a limb and say this clash would be more evenly matched than whoever Ward was wanting to get work against.
Kalenga just snagged a W, a KO9 win over Roberto Bolonti, on Nov. 7, on a card topped by Ruslan Provodnikov, in Monaco.
