Kevin Mcbride Ko’d By Mike Mollo
Clones Colossus not too colossal in the Windy City
Those who hoped the heavyweight Kevin McBride could parlay last summer’s victory over what’s left of Mike Tyson into something meaningful had their hopes dashed last night in Chicago.
Mike Mollo stopped McBride in two rounds at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., after being dropped three times.
Although Mollo had lost just one of his last seventeen fights, he was not expected to give McBride much trouble.
I saw the opening and took it, said Mollo after the fight. I knew the right hands to the body were hurting McBride. I saw the expression on his face in the clinch and I moved up to the head.
I was not surprised McBride went so quickly. We trained for 12 rounds but I caught him early.
