Light Heavyweight Boxing: Harding Faces Telesco
Harding competes for boxing crown in the Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, February 11th
On the road to the World Light Heavyweight Title, Eric Harding (21-3-1, 7 KO’s) from Hartford, Connecticut stops at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut to battle David Telesco (29-5-1, 24 KO’s) from Port Chester, New York for the USBA Regional Light Heavyweight Title. In the co-feature, Randy Griffin (20-1-1, 11 KO’s) from Louisville, Kentucky will fight Levan Easley (17-10-2, 8 KO’s) from Queens, New York in a 10-round middleweight fight.
Over the course of his career, Harding has proven that he is ready for a world title fight. In 1998, he defeated former champion Montell Griffin to win the NABF Light Heavyweight Championship, and successfully defended this title against former champion Antonio Tarver in 2000. During his fight with former champion Roy Jones Jr. for the World Light Heavyweight Title in 2000, Harding suffered a major injury to his bicep, and the fight was stopped in the tenth round.
Telesco is a talented, hard-punching contender. He has scored impressive victories over Will Taylor, Julian Letterough and Frank Tate.
Griffin has fought over 175 amateur bouts. He holds the NABA and NABO Middleweight Titles. He is currently ranked #9 by the WBO, #12 by the WBA, #6 by the USBA (IBF), and #11 by the NABF (WBC). His fights have been featured on Showtime, Comcast Sports Network, and ESPN.
Tickets are $100.00, $60.00 and $40.00, and go on sale Saturday, January 22nd through the Mohegan Sun in-house Box Office, ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster’s local “Charge by Phone” number. More information is available at 1.888.226.7711.
