Manny Camp Update
There will be sparring today, maybe eight or nine rounds, after doing eight on Tuesday, and there was mitt-work yesterday, about 14 rounds worth…and by all accounts, all systems are go for Manny Pacquiao.
The Congressman is doing his usual expert job at juggling, maintaining his smile and grace as he does media at the famed and fabled Wild Card, pulling the promotional wagon for the May 2 clash against Floyd Mayweather, who seems to prefer to let the Filipino blare the bugle, and hype the event.
Roach is happy with what he sees, as is right hand man Buboy, a source close to Team Pacman told me, and in fact, things are clicking to the point the insider said, “There seems to be something special going on. He’s more engaged when he’s talking to Freddie. They have been watching tape, and they will be working on not just attack, but on cutting off Floyd’s escape. Manny will bring it to him, and he will make his presence known early. He respects Floyd but in no way is he intimidated.”
