Martirosyan Meets Bladimir Hernandez On Bute Card
VANES MARTIROSYAN IN MONTREAL;
COLIN FISH MCFADDEN TO MAKE DEBUT
Unbeaten, hard-hitting Vanes 'Nightmare' Martirosyan of Glendale, Calif., is in
Montreal where he will fight on the Lucian Bute vs. Brian Magee world title card
at the Bell Centre on Saturday, March 19.
Martirosyan, 28-0-0 with 17 knockouts, will take on Bladimir Hernandez, 18-4, 16 KOs,
of Mexico. This will be Martirosyan's first fight since his win over unbeaten Joe Greene
at Yankee Stadium last summer.
“I can't wait until I get back into the ring on Saturday night in Montreal,” said Martirosyan,
“I am looking to making a big statement.”
Martirosyan is ranked WBO #1, WBC #4, IBF #5 in the super welterweight division.
Colin Fish McFadden, a big strong light-heavyweight from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
will make his Top Rank debut on the Montreal card. McFadden, a 4-time Canadian
champion and Most Outstanding Boxer at the 2010 Canadian National Champions,
will take on Mike Buccanan, 0-0-1, of Vancouver in a four round bout.
McFadden, 20, had an amateur record of 69-7.
The world title bout between Bute and Magee and a replay of the exciting Miguel Cotto
vs. Ricardo Mayorga title fight will be televised on Showtime Championship Boxing
at 10 PM eastern.
