Mia St. John Hosts “Night of Champions” Fundraiser
Mia St. John hosts a fundraiser on Saturday night for improving mental health called “A Night of Champions” which also honors former boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard.
Henry Acosta will be the guest emcee for the dinner and auction event that takes place on Dec. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City. Tickets are $500 and the festivities begin at 7 p.m. St. John’s foundation is called “El Saber Es Poder,” and has spearheaded help for mental illness.
Boxing’s Leonard blazed an incredible trail during his tenure in the world of prizefighting. Before entering professional boxing the Maryland-born star won Olympic gold during the Montreal Games in 1976.
As a professional Leonard dazzled boxing fans with some of the sport’s most exciting battles with ring legends such as Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler and of course Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns.
Leonard also worked for various media outlets first as a boxing analyst, then as a co-producer of the famed The Contender boxing reality series. He also promoted fight cards for several years. The boxing great will be honored by the charity foundation for his contributions.
St, John’s foundation has been providing assistance for mental illness for many years. The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza is located at 2025 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles. To order tickets go to www.miastjohnfoundation.org and click on Support Us.
