Pascal Not Scared Off By Kovalev Effort
So, Jean Pascal, what did you think of what Sergey Kovalev did to Bernard Hopkins on Saturday night, and how he did it?
“Kovalev impressed me,” the 32-year-old Haitian-born Montreal resident with the 29-2-1 mark told me.
Pascal advisor Greg Leon was taken with how Kovalev looked. Does he think maybe Pascal might now be put off at the thought of fighting the Russian?
“Not at all,” Leon told TSS. “Pascal is focused on fighting Donovan George on Dec. 6. Once he takes care of that business, his next fight will be for a world title. We have no problem or preference with either of the two champions (Kovalev or WBC champ Adonis Stevenson). When the time comes, the deal that makes the most sense is the one we will execute. Unlike Adonis Stevenson, Jean Pascal has never ducked anyone!”
Pascal takes on 25-4-2 George at the Bell Centre, for the record.
