Pavlik Training in Brutal Heat Ahead of Aug. 6 Fight
KELLY PAVLIK TRAINING
IN SCORCHING HOT YOUNGSTOWN
Kelly Pavlik ran 4.8 miles on Thursday, 3.3 miles this morning in scorching hot Youngstown.
“We went to the gym the other day and the thermometer read 136-degrees. Kelly and I turned on
the exhaust fans just to cool things down. It's been brutally hot here,” said chief trainer Jack Loew.
Pavlik is training for his bout against southpaw Darryl Cunningham on Saturday, August 6 at the
Covelli Centre in his hometown of Youngstown. Pavlik vs. Cunningham will be televised on a SHOBOX
Special Edition telecast. Cunningam, from Detroit, is unbeaten in his last 16 bouts.
“Cunningham is a very solid fighter,” Loew said. “Kelly has been working hard, sparring a lot. He knows
how important this fight is.”
Tickets at $150, $100, $50 and $25 are available at the Covelli Centre box office, www.tickemaster.com
or by calling 800-745-3000.
