PFP Ratings – A Snapshot in Time June 10, 2021

1. Canelo Alvarez (56-1-2)

Super Middleweight

His left hooks have become more destructive. No longer a slow starter, he has refined his ability to quickly close off the ring and  stalk his prey. He  is simply the best.

2. Terence Crawford: (37-0)

Welterweight

If he doesn’t fight soon, he will fall in this listing.

3. Naoya Inoue (20-0)

Bantamweight

Donaire exposed him as human but he is still exceptional..

4. Errol Spence Jr. (27-0)

Welterweight

His bout with Pacquiao will tell us all we need to know.

5. Teofimo Lopez (16-0)

Lightweight

Aussie George Kambosos Jr. should be easy work.

6. Vasiliy Lomachenko (14-2)

Lightweight

His match with Masayoshi Nakatani is no gimme. Loma must be ready.

 7. Juan Francisco Estrada (42-3)

Junior Bantamweight

In common with the great Lennox Lewis, he is undefeated in rematches. Now a third meeting with Roman Gonzalez seems likely though Sor Rungvisai looms.

8. Josh Taylor (19-0)

Light welterweight

Wins over Prograis and Ramirez make this Scot the real deal. He has old school-type skills that enhance his aura.

9. Emanuel Navarrete (33-1)

Featherweight

Four fights in 2019, three in 2020, and one so far in 2021. Activity, punch volume, stamina, and unorthodox techniques make this this guy a potential superstar.

10. Tyson Fury (30-0-1)

Heavyweight

Heavies rarely make these kinds of lists but Fury is different. He has many of the same attributes as boxers in the lighter weights. He fights in a relaxed manner using proper distance, maintains a tight defense, uses a stinging jab, and launches a destructive right hand when the opportunity presents itself.

Others: David Benevidez (24-0), Gervonta Davis (26-0), Oleksandr Usyk (18-0), Gennady Golovkin (41-1-1), Oscar Valdez  (29-0), Kazuto Ioka (26-2), Artur Beterbiev (16-0), Dmitry Bivol (18-0), Regis Prograis (26-1).

Two to keep an eye on: Tim Tszyu (18-0) and Ryan Garcia (21-0)
