Povetkin Gets W, Chisora Gets Robbed
Alexander Povetkin did the expected and got it done in Finland on Saturday. It would have been somewhat of a shocker if he didn't get a W over Cedric Boswell, the 42-year-old challenger to the WBA heavyweight titlist. Left hooks in the eighth had Bos on hurt street and he was sent to the mat with 15 seconds left in the frame. He tried to beat the count, but was woozy and was counted out.
The Georgia resident Bos showed the world's laziest jab and mostly didn't give off an aura of really wanting it. He slipped to 35-2, while the Russian, trained by Teddy Atlas, is now 23-0, with 16 stops.
Fin Robert Helenius got a gift win against Brit Dereck Chisora, according to most who watched the bout on EPIX. He said after he hurt his right hand in the first round. He rose to 17-0, while Chisora is now 15-2. Dan Rafel helped call the action and he termed the split decision (115-113, 115-113, 113-115) a robbery.
