Prince Badi Ajamu Ready For Roy Jones
BOISE, Idaho (July 29, 2006) – Some boxing insiders believe Prince Badi “The Boxing Prince” Ajamu will dethrone the contemporary king of boxing, five-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr., tomorrow night (Saturday) in Boise, Idaho.
Prince Badi (25-2-1, 14 KOs), promoted by Silverhawk Boxing (www.silverhawkboxing.com), defends his North American Boxing Organization light heavyweight title in the 12-round main event against living legend Jones (25-2-1, 14 KOs), headlining the “Hold Nothing Back!” pay-per-view event.
Although clearly the underdog, Badi has an edge in several categories for this matchup against an older Jones, who is coming off three straight losses, including two devastating knockouts by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson.
Badi has improved his training regiment and camp, adding valued experience to his team, and he worked extremely hard to be in the best mental, physical and spiritual shape of his career. More significantly, though, is that he has dreamed about an opportunity like this and, despite the much larger stage, Badi has remained completely focused. And Prince is a very hungry fighter, something that often determines the difference between winning and losing in the ring. Prince feels that this fight is his shot to prove that he is a world-class performer.
“Hold Nothing Back!” – presented by Xyience, Inc. in association with Sports and Entertainment Media, Inc. (SEMI) and Knockout Promotions – will be broadcast live in North America on cable and satellite PPV beginning at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The event is being produced and distributed for North American Pay Per View by Integrated Sports and will be available in more than 50-million homes in the United States and Canada via InDemand, TVN, DirecTV & Dish Network in the US and Viewer’s Choice & Bell ExpressVu in Canada. The suggested retail price for the PPV telecast is only $24.95.
