Prize Fight Boxing In For Zab Judah
Judah inks deal with new promoter
Former welterweight and junior welterweight champion Zab Judah, hopefully on the rebound from two less-than-stellar performance, has axed his former promoter Don King and inked a deal with Prize Fight Boxing, who will co-promote Judah’s bouts with Super Promotions, Team Judah’s promotional arm.
I’m excited to be working with the Prize Fight Boxing team, Judah said, and I’m ready to get back in the ring and settle some unfinished business. All the champions better enjoy their belts now, because I’m coming back to claim what’s mine.
Brian Young, President of Prize Fight Boxing, said, This is an important day in the history of Prize Fight Boxing, and we’re honored to have a boxer the caliber of Zab Judah on our team. He’s one of the sport’s best, and it’s just a matter of time before he’s on top of the pound-for-pound list.
Zab Judah (34-4, 25 KOs) turned pro in 1996, won the IBF junior welterweight title in 2000, and made five successful defenses before losing the crown to Kostya Tszyu. Judah moved up to welterweight in 2004, and in February 2005 he won the undisputed world title by stopping Cory Spinks. Then Judah got exposed by Carlos Baldomir, followed by an ugly decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Zab is expected to return to action in the autumn against an opponent to be named.
