HBO and HBO2 To Replay The Fight Today, Monday and Tuesday
LAS VEGAS, NEV. (February 20, 2011) — He came. He threw. He demolished. NONITO “The Filipino Flash” DONAIRE (26-1, 18 KOs),became a three-division world champion Saturday night by knocking out fellow Top-10 pound for pound fighter Fernando Montiel (43-3-2, 33 KOs), in the second round, ending the defending bantamweight champion's five-year winning streak and claiming Montiel’s WBC and WBO titles. The victory extended Donaire's nine-year winning streak to 25 bouts, with 10 of his of his past 11 wins coming by knockout. Donaire is a native of General Santos City, Philippines and a resident of San Leandro, Calif. He is trained by Robert Garcia and managed by Cameron Dunkin. Montiel vs. Donaire took place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev. And was televised live nationally by HBO on as the main event of “Boxing After Dark.”
HBO will replay the fight broadcast today at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT and Monday at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. HBO2 will air the replay today at 4:45 p.m. ET/PT and February 22 at Midnight ET/PT
