RUMOR: Sept. 12 Mayweather Fight To Screen on CBS

The rumor mill is churning, and I’m hearing there is a distinct possibility that the next Floyd Mayweather fight, to take place Sept. 12, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, could be shown on CBS.

Yep, you read that right. No pay per view. No premium cable.

Top tier boxing, featuring the sport’s premiere A side against…well, we are not sure who. Andre Berto might be the lead dog to get that gig…

I reached out to a spokesman at Showtime, which has a deal, nearing it’s end point. The next fight is the last one of “TBE’s” six fight deal.

We have no comment at this time, the spokesperson told me.

Me, I’m thinking we hear about the next foe, and the platform, within two weeks. Because September is not that far away…
