Salido In PR, Ready To Rock Saturday
CAROLINA, PUERTO RICO– WBO junior lightweight king Orlando “Siri” Salido arrived Monday afternoon to Puerto Rico to complete his training en route to his match against former world champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez on “The War” which will take place on Saturday, April 11, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It’s a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Promociones Zanfer, and will be broadcast on “Pay Per View” in Puerto Rico, United States and Canada for all Cable TV and Satellite systems.
The show is headlined by the clash between Salido (42-12-2, 29 KOs) and Martinez (28-2-2, 17 KOs) on Saturday, and will feature nine fights.
“We had a few issues and slept in Miami last night, but we’re here in Puerto Rico now. I feel very well with the work we have done and ready for this fight with Rocky, a strong opponent who always comes forward,” said Salido, who was also world champion in the featherweight class.
In the co-main event, world ranked Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez (23-1, 18 KOs) will defend his WBO Latino lightweight title against the Mexican Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero (26-5, 22 KOs) over 10 rounds.
World flyweight contender McWilliams Arroyo (15-2, 13 KOs) will face Mexican Ismael “Sapito” Garnica (13-6-1, 5 KOs) in a 10 rounds scheduled bout at the flyweight division.
