Dmitriy Salita Wins, Wants Malignaggi in a Battle of Brooklyn

Dmitriy Salita made a triumphant return to the ring on August 4^th scoring an impressive fourth round TKO over rugged, battle tested, Juan Venezuela. Venezuela is a veteran of 130 fights and has been in the ring and gone the distance with world champions and top contenders.

After completing an intensive training camp in Detroit at the world famous Kronk Gym, Salita, 34-1- 1 (18 KOs), looked sharp in his nationally televised Fox Sports Showcase fight.

Interestingly the color commentator for the show was Paul Malignaggi, the WBA Welterweight Champion, and you can click on the link below to watch the fight and hear what Malignaggi had to say. Right now Salita’s goal is to challenge fellow Brooklynite, Malignaggi, for his title.

After his big win, Salita walked across the ring over to where Paulie was sitting ringside at the media desk, leaned through the ropes, bumped fists with him and called him out for a fight. Both men displayed class and the kind of dignity that the better fighters often have.

The goal is an all Brooklyn showdown at the opening of the new Barclays Center on October 20^th.
