Sergei Liakhovich Itching For A Fight
WBO heavyweight champion wants to unify titles
WBO heavyweight champion Sergei “The White Wolf” Liakhovich has issued a public challenge to the heavyweight champs of the other major sanctioning bodies to give the fans what they want and begin the unification process by lacing up gloves and fighting him instead of fighting pretenders to the throne.
I want to fight all of them, said Liakhovich of Wladimir Klitschko (IBF), Nicolay Valuev (WBA) and Hasim Rahman (WBC). Let’s get it on. Let’s not waste time with easy challengers. Let’s give the world one heavyweight champion.
Liakhovich (23-1, 14 KOs) said that since Klitschko’s November showdown against Shannon Briggs and Valuev’s October defense against Monte Barrett seem to be taking an unusually long time to finalize, why doesn’t one of them switch course, step up to the plate, and give fight fans a fight they really and truly want to see?
Everybody wants to see who the real champion is. I am ready; let’s find out. Stop talking the talk and walk the walk. Sign me up. I’m ready, are any of you?
