Sergey Kovalev-Jean Pascal Fight To Fight March 14
Sergey Kovalev will be back in tough, as the 31-year-old Krusher (26-0 with 23 KOs) will look to continue his streak of momentum gained from schooling old master Bernard Hopkins, in his next outing, which will come against Canadian vet Jean Pascal (age 32), date and site TBD.
I spoke to Kovalev promoter Kathy Duva, who confirmed that a Kovalev-Pascal scrap is in the works, and will be finished up shortly. “We are close,” she told me.
The Russian will meet the 29-2 Pascal, which means Adonis Stevenson, who has yapped that he’d like a crack at Kovalev, will not, at least not in the near term.
Pascal first must get past Roberto Bolonti (35-3) on a Saturday card in Montreal.
I’m hearing the Kovalev-Pascal tussle will unfold March 14, in Quebec. HBO will televise.
