Stan Hoffman To Speak at Ring 8 Meeting
NEW YORK (November 15, 2013) – Veteran boxing manager Stan Hoffman will be Ring 8’s keynote speaker this Tuesday (Nov. 19 starting at 7 p.m. / ET) at November’s monthly meeting at historic Waterfront Crabhouse, in Long Island City, New York.
Hoffman has managed numerous boxers over the years, most notably world champions James Toney, Hasim Rahman, Michael Bentt and Lucia Rijker.
“Stan has been involved in boxing for a long time,” Ring 8 president Bob Duffy said. “He is a great storyteller and our members are looking forward to hearing him speak. A documentary is being filmed about Stan’s life. In addition to his many successes in boxing, he was the nephew of infamous gangster, Meyer Lansky, and he was also in the music business. He convinced Chuck Berry to record the big hit, ‘My Ding A Ling,” and he also worked with the great Fats Domino. Stan is a very interesting man.”
