Surgery For Felix Verdejo Goes Well

The wait will be a bit longer than expected, though, because the Puerto Rican young gunner, owner of a 17-0 mark, two-fisted power and a gleaming grin, along with a humble manner, had surgery Tuesday to attend to a bone spur on his left hand.
The metacarpus, to be exact, said Gardy Lopez, public relations ace for promoter Top Rank in Puerto Rico. The bone spur was removed, by surgeon Dr. Steven Shin, at the Kerlan-Jobe Medical Center in LA.
OK, procedure went well–when can Diamante fight again?
“Dr. Shin will evaluate him Monday, and he suggested no contact for three months,” Lopez told me. “We don’t have a date for a return to the ring set. We are going to wait for his full recovery.”
