TV Boxing Tonight: Sugar Ray Leonard on “Best Damn Sports Show Period”
LOS ANGELES, March 24 – Boxing legend “Sugar” Ray Leonard will appear tonight on FOX Sports Net's “Best Damn Sports Show Period” to discuss his new NBC reality show “The Contender.” The show will air at 9:00pm, 10:30pm and 11:30pm. All times are local.
ABOUT “THE CONTENDER”
“The Contender” follows 16 professional boxers as they come to a training camp to follow their dream of becoming a champion boxer. The driving force behind the series will be the pursuit of the American dream and the trials and tribulations they experience in that quest. The canvas of the show gives viewers a firsthand look into the real life hopes, triumphs and defeats of the contestants and how their single-minded, consuming commitment affects their families.
The final two boxers will fight live at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 24th for one-million dollars and the chance to change their lives and the lives of the people they love forever.
ABOUT THE “BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD”
Each weeknight on FOX Sports Net the topical sports stories of the day are discussed in an opinionated and humorous way by former NBA star John Salley, and host Chris Rose. These two will toss around sports conversation from the fans' and players' points of view with a no-holds-barred approach. Blending sports and comedy with an irreverent tone throughout the 60 minutes, BDSSP also takes a humorous nightly look at the sports happenings of the day, and features special guests with the guys in their living-room style set.
