Welcome, Baby Boy Foreman! (Will They Name Him George?)
BROOKLYN, NY (August 29, 2010) – Labor Day came early for Leyla and Yuri Foreman today with the birth of their first child. The Foreman’s baby boy, who has not been named yet, arrived 4 a.m. ET at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and weighed-in at six pounds, 12 ounces. Even better, he arrived on Leyla’s birthday.
I am a new Dad, which is such an amazing experience, Foreman told Top Rank public relations director Lee Samuels. “There is nothing like this. I am in awe.
Foreman (28-1, 8 KOs), a former World Boxing Association super welterweight champion and the first Israeli world champion boxer, lost his title to Miguel Cotto last June when he suffered a severe knee injury during the fight and was unable to continue. After having successful reconstructive surgery, Foreman spent the summer rehabilitating his knee and is hoping to begin light running in approximately two weeks.
I have been at the gym doing upper body work, but soon I will begin running to see where I am at, said Foreman. “Meanwhile, I will give a lot of attention to my wife and our new baby, Yuri said.
