Chicago Boxing Returns This Friday
Dominic Pesoli's 8 Count Productions and Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated along with Miller Lite presents “WAVE OF FURY” another installment of THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING this Friday night at the Aragon Ballroom broadcast internationally as past of Telefutura's SOLO BOXEO DE MILLER Friday Night Boxing Series.
Tickets starting at $25 are on sale now by calling 312-226-5800 and at the door the night of the event. Doors open at 6pm with the first bell at 7pm.
Headlining the action packed evening of professional boxing is an NABF lightweight title bout between, undefeated Mexican Jose Armando Santa Cruz, 19-0 (10KO's) of Lincoln Heights, California and Ernesto Zavala, 20-3 (8KO's) of Burbank, California in a 12 round battle. Santa Cruz knocked out former world title challenger Justin Juuko at the last 8 Count Productions event on April 22nd. Zavala is looking to stay on the winning side after winning bouts over contenders Hector Quiroz and Ernest Johnson in the fall of last year.
In the co-main event of the evening heavy handed Luciano “El Gallo Michoacano” Perez, 12-1-1 (11KO's) takes on Germaine “Silky” Sanders, 23-3 (17KO's) in a ten round Chicagoland welterweight crosstown showdown. Perez looks to get back in the win column after his blood filled war with Robert Jones which ended in an eight round draw on March 11 at the Concordia Theater. Sanders is looking to add to his modest two fight winning streak and climb the ladder of ranked contenders. The full card including the Chicagoland debut of world ranked middleweight Kelly Pavlik, the return of the former amateur standouts the Gonzalez brothers, Dave Pareja, Mike Nevitt and Rita Figueroa is as follows;
