Juan Manuel Marquez' Fight Saturday Will Be Available to Stream
LAS VEGAS, NEV. (July 14, 2011) – Three-division world champion JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ risks his revenge rematch against professional nemesis and boxing’s No. 1 pound for pound fighter Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao when he battles former world champion LIKAR RAMOS in a 10-round junior welterweight rumble This Saturday! July 16. Marquez-Ramos will headline a three-bout broadcast, which will be streamed live from Plaza de Toros in Cancún, México, via www.toprank.tv, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. Colonel Bob Sheridan and Raul Marquez will be calling the fight from ringside.
Produced and distributed by Top Rank, the free livestream will be available exclusively to the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.
Marquez (52-5-1, 38 KOs), from México City, is one of the few Méxican champions to have won world titles in three different weight divisions. Marquez has gone mano-a-mano with Pacquiao twice, with both fights going the distance in the closest of battles. Their 2004 featherweight title unification ended in a Draw while their 2008 super featherweight title fight ended with Pacquiao winning a one-point split decision.
Ramos (24-3, 18 KOs), from Barranquilla, Colombia, enters this fight having won 14 of his last 15 bouts, including three consecutive knockout victories leading into Saturday’s fight. Ramos captured the World Boxing Association interim super featherweight title in 2009 when he knocked out Ernesto Morales in the third round. He lost the title the following year to Jorge Solis.
