Hollywood Bash Fight Results
A long night of boxing under the Hollywood sign saw heavyweight prospect Charles Martin (14-0-1, 12 Kos) win by knockout again on Thursday evening.
Bash Boxing and the Art of Boxing Promotions brought another large fight card to Hollywood at the famous Florentine Gardens and there were no surprises.
The man mountain Martin, who steps over the ring ropes when entering the boxing ring, eliminated heavyweight Maurenzo Smith (12-8-3, 9 Kos) at the end of three rounds. Martin easily stands seven inches or more over six feet in height. He also has tremendous power and a decent chin.
Cruiserweight Deon Elam (13-1, 7 Kos) returned to boxing after several years and stopped Michael Glenn (3-8-2) at 2:54 of round two. Elam is a former contestant in the Contender reality TV series of a few years ago. It had been four years since the athletic boxer had last fought.
United Kingdom's John Quigley (11-0, 2 Kos) remained undefeated after six rounds against Alejandro Ochoa (3-8-2) in a junior welterweight fight. Quigley's hands down boxing style prevailed once again.
Middleweight Louis Rose (9-1-1) handed Fabian Reyes (10-1, 6 Kos) his first pro defeat after six rounds. Mexico's Reyes had never fought outside of his country and was matched against L.A.-based Rose whose style is not at all common in Mexico.
In a close welterweight battle Zach Wohlman ( 7-1-1) eked out a majority decision against hard luck Luis Hernandez (2-6) of San Bernardino. The four round fight was close from the beginning to the end.
Other winners were welterweight Chris Van Heerden (20-1-1, 11 Kos), light heavyweight Vyacheslav Shabransky (7-0, 6 Kos), junior middleweight Urmat Ryskeldiev (7-3-1), lightweight Minju Shin (1-0) and featherweight Erik Ruiz (11-1).
